Karkala: Property dispute leads to assault

Karkala, Aug 27: Vishwanath Acharya (26), son of late Narashimha Acharya, resident of Vasundhara Nivasa, Edamballi, Shivapura post and grama in Karkala taluk and his elder brother Pradeep were working on their farm when they were assaulted by a person named Prabhakara Acharya.

Prabhakara allegedly assaulted Vishwanath with an iron rod. He also kicked Pradeep and tried to strangle him with the iron rod saying that the property belongs to him and abused them in filthy language.

Vishwanath has lodged a complaint at Hebri police station in this regard. The police have registered a case and are investigating. The dispute between the two parties about some property is thought to be the reason behind the assault.
