Now, senior citizens will walk the ramp

Noida, Sep 17 (IANS): When we mention senior citizens, the picture that flashes in our mind is of old people sipping tea, reading newspaper or strolling leisurely in a park. But here is a twist in their story - they will walk the ramp at an upcoming event.

“Jashan”, the two-day extravaganza starting Sep 27 at Utsav Senior Living and Tree House Club and Resorts in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, will not only see the elderly walking the ramp, they will also indulge in other activities.

Some of the key sports activities to take place during the event include table tennis tournaments, badminton, chess, and a mini marathon.

There will also be competitions like flower arrangements, salad making, singing, dancing and a ramp show where senior citizens will hit the ramp dressed as brides and grooms, said a statement.

Over 500 senior citizens living in Jaipur, Lavasa and Bhiwadi are participating in Jashn.

“A life spent working hard to make a living, caring, protecting and nurturing children: senior citizens have given it all. Ashiana Housing Ltd. dig out some precious moments for senior citizens to rejoice golden years of their lives by announcing two-day extravaganza,” said Amita Shaw, the coordinator of the event.
