Mangalore, Sep 17: Drivers of two trucks suffered injuries after their trucks collided with each other on Shambhavi Bridge in Mulky on Tuesday September 16. The incident resulted in traffic block on national highway 66 for about an hour.

As both the trucks could not be moved from out of the bridge, long lines of vehicles were formed on both sides of the bridge for over two kms. As such, several passengers bound for the city walked to Mulky and travelled in other vehicles towards their destination while several others, out of urgency, hired cars or auto rickshaws for their onward journeys.

The movement of vehicles began after both the trucks were shifted from out of the bridge with the help of cranes. Mulky and Suratkal traffic police, who reached the spot, found it hard to even transport the drivers to hospitals as movement of vehicles had come to a standstill.

After putting in hard work for long, the police succeeded in clearing the highway for traffic on Tuesday evening.
