New Delhi, Sep 28: Taking cognizance of the demand made by former Chief of Army Staff Gen Ved Prakash Malik, the BJP on Thursday demanded the government officially respond and contradict the ''falsehood, bluff and bluster'' of Pakistan President Gen Musharraf claiming victory in the Kargil conflict.

BJP Spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said the government is a continous and it is all too well known that Pakistan forces had fled the terrirory leaving behind their dead. "The sacrifices of the armed forces had brought about the Kargil victory and it is the duty of the Government to call the bluff of Pakistan President who led the Pakistani assault as the chief of that country's Army".

Mr Prasad noted that Pakistan firstly denied army involvement and now that country's Army Chief was now conceding not only the participation but claiming victory.

"We support Gen Malik's demand for the government to respond officially because hitherto there has been only stray comments but no official repudiation of Musharraf falsehood," he added.
