Shashi Kapoor hospitalised due to chest infection


Mumbai, Sep 22 (Bhaskar News) : Yesteryear actor Shashi Kapoor has been admitted to hospital after he complained of pain in the chest. Sources told Dailybhaskar that the 76-year-old actor complained of severe pain after which he was rushed to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital.


According to the hospital the actor was brought to the hospital on September 15 with cough and breathlessness. He has been admitted under the care of a nephrologist as he has been a known case of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and on dialysis.

"Mr Kapoor, although in the intensive care unit (ICU), but is stable and is on antibiotics. He has been diagnosed with chest infection," said the executive director of the hospital, Dr Ram Narain.


The septuagenarian actor has not been in the pink of health for some time and had undergone a bypass surgery in the past. Incidentally, Kapoor had undergone a cataract surgery at the same hospital in July, 2012.
