'Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye' bold, controversial: Ekta Kapoor

Mumbai, Sep 26 (IANS): Producer Ekta Kapoor describes her new show "Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye" as bold and controversial.

"It's bold and it's controversial, but there is no extra marital affair. It will be interesting and emotional. It's a strong understanding of how society looks at women," Ekta told reporters here Friday.

She has managed to rope in Sonali Bendre and Apoorva Agnihotri for the show that will be aired on Life Ok.

When asked what prompted her to make the show, she said: "It's funny, it has quirky characters and it's light-hearted. Many of my viewers started saying you show happily married couples who are perfect, which added pressure on us."

This inspired Ekta to conceptualise "Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye".

"Marriage is just not a status, it's a deal," she said.
