Bangalore, Sep 26: With heavy downpour inundating most parts of Bangalore during the last few days, especially the low lying areas, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has asked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Bangalore city ministers and MLAs to extend all support to the beleaguered Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to help the victims of the rain havoc.

KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara has urged the State Government to provide all support to the BBMP to prevent untoward incidents in low lying areas of the city.

Several low lying residential areas in the city were inundated following heavy downpour on Thursday night and also on the previous day.

Dr Parameshwara has appealed to the Chief Minister and Bangalore in-charge Minister B Ramalinga Reddy, who also holds transport portfolio, to issue directions to BBMP Commissioner M Lakshminarayan, joint commissioners and officials to work round the clock for the next 3-4 days as the city is likely to receive more rains.

He pointed out that the meteorological department has predicted rains during the next few days in the city.

Dr Parameshwara has appealed to Congress activists, BBMP members, City MLAs and block Congress presidents to rush to the low lying areas to take up rescue operations.
