Udupi: CM Siddaramiah inaugurates Rajiv Bhavan in Kaup

Udupi, Sep 28: Chief Minister Siddaramiah called the Congress workers from other parts of Karnataka to emulate Kaup block Congress workers. He was speaking at the function where he inaugurated Rajiv Bhavan, the office of the Kaup block Congress.

He appreciated the efforts taken by Vinay Kumar Sorake, the in-charge minister of Udupi district under whose able guidance the Bhavan was conceptualised and completed. He asked the workers to avail the facilities provided in the office building during the discharge of their duties.

The building hosts the Kaup block Congress party office and local MLA’s office as well.

Later, Sorake who spoke with emotions said that the office was built on the place where Rajiv Gandhi stood and spoke years back. He paid tribute to the former prime minister.

Oscar Fernandes, the former union minister said that the office was a landmark in the region and it should be a place from where the victory of the next election is announced.

Host of Congress leaders including the legislative members from the undivided Dakshina Kannada were present.

Naveenchandra J Shetty, Kaup Block president welcomed and Abdul Aziz, Youth Congress State General Secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
