Bantwal, Oct 14: The situation is calm and fully under control in B C Road, said the police sources while disclosing that 5 shops have been damaged in the violence spree that broke out on Friday October 11 evening.
District SP Dayananda is present at the spot and is guiding the police force. He had rushed to the spot on Friday night. Additional police forces too have been summoned to B C Road to take control of the situation.
As reported earlier, a few incidents of violence had rocked the town on Friday after a group of about 8 persons exploded 5 locally-made dynamites around 7 pm. The miscreants took full advantage of power failure and damaged a hotel, a sweets shop, a saloon, cutlery shop and electronic shop. Two persons were stabbed while 3 more were injured in stone pelting.
Hotel Satkar, Vijaya Sweets Shoppe, Alankar Saloon, Guruprabha Traders and Manasa Traders were damaged in the stone pelting. A Maruti Omni car too has been damaged.
However, so far no one is arrested in this regard. The miscreants had fled the place by the time police had arrived on the spot.
Mangalore: Situation In B C Road Now Under Control – Security Beefed up

Mangalore Oct 14: Tight security in and around B C Road has restored peace in the region, which saw a sudden violent upsurge. However peace has been restored and the situation has come under control, said police sources.
Daijiworld reporter who is at the spot has informed that the entire area was paralyzed following instances of stone pelting, which resulted in damage to four shops.
After curfew was lifted in Mangalore, the situation had come under control, but the sudden eruption of violence has rejuvenated fear among the people.
The miscreants also pelt bottles.
With the situation in control, vehicles are now plying safely through B C Road. Shops and commercial establishments however remained closed after the violent attack.
Extra force has been deployed in the region.
Mangalore: Violence Erupts Again: B C Road Gripped with Tension
Mangalore, Oct 13: Violence has broken again in B C Road following bursting of crackers. According to available sources, a group of youth burst crackers creating fear among the people at B C Road.
The mob which took advantage of the situation pelt stones at a hotel.
The incident occurred at around 7 pm in the heart of the town near the town police station.
Hotel Satkar, Hotel Pranama, New Vijay Bakery and Pinto complex suffered losses to property due to stone pelting. Several vehicles parked around these places were also damaged.
Sources have also reported that it was a planned attack as there was a power failure at that time.
Additional police security has been deployed in Shantiangadi, Gudinabali and Aaladka regions.
Latest reports have also informed of one person being stabbed by some miscreants.
Shops and commercial establishments remained closed after the incident.
