Moodbidri, Oct 15: The grand Suvarna Karnataka Samskrutika Dibbana stepped into Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday.
The campaign to create awareness about Kannada culture and language entered Beluvai and was given a grand welcome at Alangaru here. The colourful procession with tableaux and the Dibbana representing the cultural richness of the heritage of Karnataka passed through the streets of Moodbidri. The Dibbana was taken to Souharda Maidan here.
Karnataka Tulu Academy president M K Seetharam Kulal, Konkani Academy president Eric Ozario, president of DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Harikrishna Punaroor received the Dibbana.
Various dance and music troupes including the Kalladka Dolls troupe, Yakshagana, and the Huli vesha were a part of the procession.
Artistes, students and the public participated in the procession.
