WASHINGTON, Oct 20: The Boeing Company announced it had won seven orders for its 787 Dreamliner and a 747-8 jet on Tuesday to mystery buyers it declined to identify.

Boeing said 'undisclosed customers' had placed orders for one 787-8 jet, three 787-9 jets, and one 747-8 aircraft. It said the jets were "specifically designed for the VIP market."

Asked what the order was worth, a Boeing spokesperson replied: "For various reasons we are not issuing or announcing what the green list price is for the wide body VIP aircraft."

The VIP-configured 787-8 and 787-9 jets both have a range of 9,590 nautical miles (17,760 kilometers). The range of the 747-8 is a shade less at 9,260 nautical miles (17,150 kilometers).

Such VIP-configured jets can carry between 75 and 100 people. The US aircraft-maker said it delivers such aircraft in so-called green condition, without interior furnishings or exterior paint.

Buyers then work with designers to kit out the interior cabins as they desire, such as fitting staterooms, ensuite bathrooms or dining areas.

Separately, Boeing said it had received four firm orders for its B747-800, the cargo version of its jumbo jet, from leasing firm Guggenheim Aviation Partners, a deal worth some 1.12 billion dollars at book value.
