Krispy Kreme arrives in Mumbai


Mumbai, Oct 17 (IANS): Krispy Kreme, a US doughnut chain, opened its doors to foodies here Friday.

The new store at Powai offers different varieties of Krispy Kreme's doughnuts including the signature hot Original Glazed® doughnut, as well as a complete menu of Krispy Kreme Chillers, iced beverages and coffee.

In India, Krispy Kreme Doughnut has tied up with Citymax Hotels India Pvt. Ltd, the hospitality division of Dubai-based retail and hospitality conglomerate Landmark group, to open 80 Krispy Kreme stores in south and west India over the next five years.

“Following the overwhelming response from Bangalore and Chennai, we now look forward to expanding the brand in Mumbai. With our state-of-the-art Doughnut Theatre, we offer the idea of our store experience being the brand for our customers,” Peter King, vice president, Asia Pacific, Krispy Kreme Corporation, said in a statement.

In its 77th year of operation, the brand plans on opening two new outlets in Bandra and Juhu by mid-November.
