For commercial films, SRK right guide for Vivaan: Naseeruddin


Mumbai, Oct 20 (IANS): Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah who was Monday present at the 16th MAMI film festival says he has watched his son Vivaan's film "Happy New Year" and has enjoyed it and claims it's a "paisa wasool" film. He also says for commercial films, no one can be better than Shah Rukh as the right guide for his son Vivaan.

Naseeruddin Shah said: "I have seen the film, it's a great film, it's a 'paisa wasool' film. I am very much happy with Vivaan's performance. Being a newcomer, he has been given a lot of attention. For commercial films, no one better than Shah Rukh can be the right guide for him."

Directed by Farah Khan, "Happy New Year" features Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah among others.

The versatile actor who was present to talk about his film "Junoon" at the film festival says it is not just inspiring but also a memorable film.

He says, "Junoon is not just an inspirational film, its also a memorable film. I also feel festivals are the right platform for films which doesn't have big budgets. I feel proud that I was associated with this film."

Released in 1978, Junoon was directed by Shyam Benegal and the film featured Shashi Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Nafisa Ali among others.
