Committed to developing industrial park: Odisha tells Centre


Bhubaneswar, Nov 27 (IANS): Odisha has told the central government it is committed to developing an industrial park in the state's Angul district in a time-bound manner.

The Aluminium Park has received in principle approval under modified industrial infrastructure up-gradation scheme of the department of industrial policy and promotion.

The government has assigned Orissa Project Development Company Pvt Ltd to prepare a master plan for the project.

"We are committed to developing external linkages such as road, water and power supply for the industrial park. IDCO is committed towards supporting development of the park in a time-bound manner," said Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) CMD Vishal Dev in a letter to the commerce ministry recently.

The Centre has granted Rs.43 crore for the park which is estimated to cost Rs.125 crore.

The government has also formed a special purpose vehicle (SPV) 'Angul Aluminium Park Pvt Ltd (AAPPL)' jointly with national PSUs NALCO and IDCO.
