Janakiram's last rites to be performed Sunday


Hyderabad, Dec 7 (IANS): The last rites of producer Nandamuri Janakiram, who died in an automobile accident Saturday, will be performed here Sunday.

The accident occurred when Janakiram's car collided with a tractor near Akupamala village in Munagala mandal of Nalgonda district.

"The final procession will start from 2 p.m. from Harikrishna's residence. The last rites will be performed at the family farmhouse in Moinabad," a source close to the family told IANS.

Janakiram, a grandson of legendary Telugu actor and late Andhra Pradesh chief minister N.T. Rama Rao, was on his way to Vijayawada from here when the accident occurred. He was driving the vehicle and was alone.

Janakiram is the son of veteran actor Nandamuri Harikrishna, who is a leader of Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He used to produce films under NTR Arts banner featuring his brother Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.

Some of the popular films produced by him include "Athanokkade", "Hare Raam", "Om 3D", while "Pataas" and "Kick 2" are currently under production.

He is survived by his wife and a son, who was recently selected as child actor for Telugu children's film "Dana Veera Soora Karna".
