Dilip Kumar to celebrate birthday at home

Mumbai, Dec 9: Doctors at Lilavati hospital have given veteran actor Dilip Kumar the all clear to return home just in time to celebrate his 92nd birthday. Last year he had celebrated his birthday at his Pali Hill residence with many Bollywood biggies in attendance including Priyanka Chopra and Shahrukh Khan.

Dilip Kumar had been admitted with complaints of a lung infection, due to which he had been suffering from high fever, body ache and breathlessness. He was under the care of Dr. Jaleel Parker. Dilip saab as he is loving called by one and all, was diagnosed with broncho pneumonia, which is basically an inflammation in the lungs due to bacterial infection. The actor was administered appropriate and constant care and is now out of the ICU.

Actress Farida Jalal, had expressed her concerns of the drastic consequences of a lung infection at his advanced age and more so when he had recently suffered a heart attack. His wife Saira Banu has been with him through his entire ordeal, despite her own failing health. Close friends of the family have been concerned that she is neglecting her own health.

Having been together for 22 years, the couple have lived out a legendary love story for their fans and audiences. Many have remarked on the cheerful countenance of Dilip ji though the entire ordeal.
