Mangalore, Nov 28: A public meeting demanding the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya was held in front of the deputy commissioner's office here on Monday November 27.

The public meeting was organized by Shri Ram Mandir Samarthana Samiti.  Speaking on the occasions Shri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math said that those who oppose Ram Mandir at Ayodhya are not Indians.  "Those who think that Bhagwan Shri Ram is stranger cannot be the citizens of India.  He is not an ideal only to Hindus but for all human beings.  So Muslims and Christians too should accept him as their ideal," he said.

He took the rationalists for task saying that they fight and protest only when it matters for minorities.  But when Hindus are in trouble and danger, they turn a deaf ear.  If they are truly humanists, they should stand up and speak when Hindus are denied their rights and persecuted.  "Our aim is to build temple at the place where Shri Ram was born.  Till then we will not rest," he announced.

Shri Vidhyaprasanna Swamiji of Subrahmanya, Shri Rajashekharanand Swamiji of Vajradehi Math of Uppugodu, state president of Samskar Bharatiy Kumble Sundar Rao also spoke on the occasion.  A memorandum was later submitted to President through deputy commissioner.

Committee convener M B Puranik welcomed the gathering while Krishnamurthy proposed vote of thanks. Sathish Prabhu compered the programme.
