Shirva: St Mary's Old Students' Annual Day - Pictures

Udupi, Nov 29: Annual day celebration of St Mary's Old Students' Association was held on Saturday November 25. The inaugural function was held in the morning with flag hoisting.  Dr Srinivas Bhat, assistant professor of department of psychiatry at K S Hegde Memorial Medical College Hospital, Deralakatte, Mangalore, was the chief guest.





College correspondent Fr Valerian Pinto and Felix Andrade, principal were also present on the dais.  Association president Dr Gururaj welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. Chief guest Dr Srinivas Bhat expressed sweet memories of his student life at the college. Fr Valerian Pinto blessed the function.  Mario Mathias proposed the vote of thanks.



A sports meet was organized later in the day.  More than 250 old students participated in various events. Among present were a huge numbers comprising of expatriate and local ex-St Marians. Most spectacular event was 'Tug-of-War' which was so interesting and exciting, that the emotion filled crowd enjoyed to the core. The entire event reached to peak of their excitement at the final moment. 



Evening function commenced at 6. 30 pm. Present on the dais were chief guest and old student Fr Francis Lewis, director of Sandesha Foundation, Mangalore, Fr Valerian Pinto, college correspondent and president and principal Felix Andrade.



A short cultural programme which was organized after the formal stage programme was followed by hilarious Tulu drama 'Incha Avare Balli Etthundu' enacted by our ex-St Marians.
