Dubai, Nov 29: Udyavarites residing in UAE have celebrated St. Francis Xavier's Feast -   ‘VODLEM FEST’ at High Land Hotel – Bur Dubai on November 24th, 2006.

As many festive celebrations always are, this too a day filled with loads of fun and entertainment for the young and old.
The programme commenced around 1230 hrs with a warm welcome by Master of Ceremony a well known and popular Singer Mr Donny Correa.


Committee Members sang the hymn in honour of the Patron Saint of Udyavara – Amchea San-Francis-ka-Savera, followed by Mariet Quadros did a reading from the Bible.

Little ones dressed in white and black performed the welcome dance. 



Donald Machado – Vice President Udyavarites, thanked the guest for their presence in the celebration of Vodlem Fest. 
He thanked all the sponsors and well-wishers who have contributed in a special way by giving each of them a flower bouquet for their contribution.

The highlight of the whole event was fabulous music by Johny – Viva-Goa
There were other periodic stage plays all through the events. Some hilarious skits were enacted by talents of Udayarites were enthralling. 

People were kept busy with games and competitions by Donny Correa who did an outstanding job on stage.
A scrumptious display of aromatic lunch was served by DasPrakash much to the delight of everyone's taste buds.
When the guest had their fill they were all geared up to see the stage play – ‘Pidestacho Bongostol’… written by popular comedy writer -  Francis Fernandes - Cassia.


Raffle draw, Housie and many games were held and winners were awarded with prizes.
Glen who won the Kombo Sodthi walked away with the Kombo.

Canute Moras - Member of the committee gave the vote of thanks to guests, participants and members who actively and whole-heartedly participated in making this day a success in every way.

Baila dance with live music by the popular - Johny and dance performance by young artiste entertained the crowd and kept them on their feet.

Event was a great success. Everyone enjoyed thoroughly
