Mahira Khan to debut in Farhan Akhtar's 'Raees' opposite SRK

Mumbai, Dec 16: Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, is poised to make her foray into the ranks of Bollywood glitterati with her first movie opposite Shahrukh Khan. The movie is directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

The actress who began her career as a VJ, is today the talk of the town much before the release of her first film. Her popular daily soap 'Hamsafar' has become as much of a crowdd favourite in India as it had across Pakistan, home country. Mahira has acted in Pakistani movies as well as daily soaps and has received praises for her stellar performance in both mediums.

Married to her college sweetheart AliAskari, Mahira also has a son. She has time and again refused work that might have kept her away from her son for extended periods. She had previously declined to work in India for the same reason.

'Hamsafar' is being aired on Zee Zindagi since November 2014, and the show has already given Bollywood Mahira's co-star actor Fawad Ali Khan. Fawad has made a place for himself in the hearts of the Indian audiences with his debut movie opposite Sonam Kapoor in Khoobsurat.

Her debut movie in Pakistan titled 'Bol' (2011) by Shoaib Mansoor had garnered immense praise for her performance. She played the role of a tomboy who defies her strict father to marry a boy of her choosing.
