Mangalore, Dec 7: ‘Yakshanandana’ a Yakshagana troupe will leave for Mumbai on Thursday December 7 to present a unique performance in Mumbai. The group will perform Yakshagana in English.

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday December 6, Shankaranarayana Mairpady informed that various Yakshagana themes such as ‘Srikrishna parijatha,’ ‘Narakasura moksha,’ ‘Dhakshaadhwara,’ and ‘Girijakalyana’ will be presented in English.

The troupe, as part of its decennial celebrations, will organize various competitions for students on January 14 at Nandaneshwara Temple at Panambur here. There will also be a new Yakshagana theme presented by children on the occasion. Around 200-250 schools from different districts are expected to participate in these competitions, he said.
