Udupi, Dec 8: The nation-wide strike against the economic polices of the UPA government will gain momentum here too with the joint committee of trade unions deciding to hold a rally of labourers on Thursday December 14.
A press release by committee convener Admar Sripati Acharya stated that the rally will begin from LIC district divisional office and terminate at Corporation Bank zonal office.
The release also stated that the government has not implemented the Common Minimum Programme and alleged that the economic policies of the government have worsened the living conditions of the working class, farmers and those belonging to the poor section of the society.
Trade unions like CITU, AITUC, HMS, TUCC, UTUC and those belonging to banks, insurance companies, railway and postal offices will form a part of the committee, the release stated.
