Daijiworld News Network - Mangalore (GA)

Mangalore, Dec 9: Sources from Mulki have reported that the special police team has taken to custody 3 persons in connection with the murder of local BJP leader Sukhanand Shetty. The reports also said that son of a local leader too was taken to custody in this regard and was released after interrogation.

Reports confirmed that the son of a local leader who had political rivalry with Sukhanand Shetty was taken to custody a few days ago.  He was released after investigation.  Though nothing has been confirmed about as who is the main person who is behind the murder, there have been several rumours that Mulki Rafiq might have been involved in the murder in one or the other way.  Mulki Rafiq who is also accused in the Polali Anantu murder is still at large.  Since there are a lot of similarities in both murders, none of these theories could so easily be dismissed.

On the other hand it is said that 3 more persons from the region too have been taken to custody.  However, police are not revealing their names for security reasons. Among these 3, two persons are said to be having a criminal background with a few cases against them in local police stations.

But as such there seems to be no much progress in the case since no one yet sure whether the murder was owing to political rivalry or business rivalry.  Police too are taking time in order to make sure that no innocent persons are trapped in the case.
