Mangalore Dec 11: Premier labour organizations such as CITU, IITUC, HMS, AICTU, UTUC and others are organizing a strike on Thursday December 14 protesting the government decision for 100% investment in retail sale for Wallmart, a multinational company.
Speaking at a press conference here on Monday December 11 morning, DK district Labours’ Association joint committee director B Madhav said that such a policy by the government would affect the Indian retail sale business largely and would render lacs of people jobless.
He also criticized the government of privatizing telecom and other industry and trying to adopt similar policy for airports as well.
The organizations will be holding strike protesting against these policies, he added.
BSNL secretary Venugopal Nambiar , AITUC president B K Krishnappa, CITU district president K R Sriyan, AIIEA president Nagesh Kumar, KSRTC workers’ union president Channaresa Gowda, CITU member Vasanth Achari were also present at the press meet.
