Mangalore, Dec 14: The police have arrested 3 more persons in connection with the BJP leader Sukhanand Shetty's murder on Wednesday December 13.  With this, the total number of persons arrested in the case has gone upto 9.

The special investigation team of the police has arrested two persons in the city while the third was arrested in Vamajoor.  The arrested are said to be the residents of Gurpur and Bajpe near here.

Meanwhile the police have released 5 persons out of the 7 arrested in Sakleshpur on Tuesday December 12.  It is said that out of the 7, only two were directly involved in the murder.  So the rest were released after investigation.
