Mandd Sobhann hosts emerging star Prajoth D'sa concert

Media release

Mangaluru, Jan 6: The 157th monthly theatre programme of Mandd Sobhann was presented on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Kalaangann.

Prajoth D’Sa of Kallianpur, a young singer, composer and performer, who is an emerging star of the Konkani music scene, presented ‘Prajoth D’Sa – Live’ – a musical show, to a packed audience. It was a very impressive performance and everybody felt that it was one of the best monthly theatre programmes presented at Kalaangann.

On the occasion, the first Kannada monthly among Konkani Kuddmis – ‘Kudubi Jnana Deepthi’, edited by Shri Lingappa Gowda (Likhith Raj), was released by Padmanabha Gowda (an elder of the Kuddmi community and renowned folk artiste). Roy Castelino (President, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy), Honnappa Gowda (Member, Mijar Panchayat), Sunita Timmappa Gowda (Kudubi Mathr Sangha Pramukh) and Eric Ozario (Gurkar, Mandd Sobhann) were the guests of honour.

‘Kudubi Jnana Deepthi’, though a Kannada monthly, will have 1 or 2 pages in Konkani, to motivate Kuddmis to read and write Konkani. Mandd Sobhann has assured its full support to this literary effort of fellow Konkanis. Stany Alvares (Co-ordinator, Mandd Sobhann) compered the programme.
