Mangalore, Dec 16: The special team of the police which has been investigating the murder case of Sukhanand Shetty have now arrested 3 more persons as per the information provided by one of the prime accused Kabir on Friday December 15.

The arrested have been identified as Nazir (27), a resident of Kalladka, Noushad (22) from Vamanjoor and Nawaz (19) from Permannur.  While Noushad and Nawaz were directly involved in the murder, Nazir had helped prime accused Abdul Kabir to flee to Sakleshpur where he was staying in lodge.  He had taken Kabir on a Maruti Omni car from Kalladka to Sakleshpur and had even arranged for his accommodation.

Noushad and Nawaz too were in the gang that had hacked Sukhanand to death.  The police have now also seized the sabre used by Kabir in the crime.  Police recovered the sabre from a quarry near Gurpur-Kaikamba. 

Kabir had sustained a minor injury on his hand during the murder.  He had tied a cloth piece to block bleeding.  The same has been recovered from an under construction house near Banglagudde.  The police sources said that after the murder Kabir had called for a rickshaw using his cellphone and fled to Addur where had taken treatment for his injury.

Meanwhile Kabir and another accused Salim who was arrested in Sakleshpur have been handed over to police custody.
