Mangalore, Dec 18: A two-day international symposium on 'Sustainable Fisheries Development for Food and Health Security' organised jointly by the College of Fisheries and its alumni association will be held on Wednesday December 20 and Thursday December 21.

Dean of Fisheries College Dr P Keshavanath speaking at the press conference here on Monday December 18 said that the two-day programme will be inaugurated by K V A F S U Bidar vice chancellor Dr RN Srinivasa Gowda on Wednesday December 20 at 9 am in the Fisheries College seminar hall.

Papers on topics such as aquaculture, fish processing technology and others presented by national and international experts and delegates on the occasion.. Participants are expected from different parts of the country, said Keshavnath.

Mangalore University vice-chancellor K M Kaveriappa will be the chief guest, while Central Institute of Fisheries Education, deemed University Mumbai director and vice-chancellor Dr Dilip Kumar will deliver the key note address. Director of Fisheries, government of Karnataka Bangalore H S Veerappa Gowda will be the guest of honour and College of Fisheries dean Dr P Keshavnath will preside over the function.

Symposium convener H Shivanand Murthy and symposium joint secretary B Hemantappa were present at the press conference.
