Mangalore, Dec 28: The first ever All-India Tibetan students’ conference organised by the Tibetan Students Association Mangalore (TSAM) began here on Wednesday December 27.
Speaking on the occasion, prime minister of Tibetan government in exile Prof Samdong Rinpoche said that despite a population of one million Tibetans in India, they do not enjoy citizenship unlike their counterparts in other countries.
He further stated that the middle-path policy that his government wants to pursue aims at seeking peace with China by entrusting the defence and foreign affairs with the Chineses government and all other governmental powers to be restored to the people of Tibet.
A large number of Tibetan students were present on the occasion. More than 50 student delegates from different parts of the country participated.
President of Tibetan Youth Congress Kalsang Phuntsok, noted writer and activist Tenzin Tsuendue and students will present papers at the three-day event.
