Mangalore, Dec 28: Sachin Martin Pinto, a first pre-university college student of St Aloysius College succumbed to malaria coupled with jaundice.

Sachin was studying in the Science stream. On December 20, Sachin ran a fever. Upon testing, he was told that he was negative on Malaria. But, since he still had fever, he took some other tablets.

After writing his mid-term exams, he left on Christmas vacation. Sachin had fever and was diagnosed with malaria and was admitted to Fr Muller Hospital on Sunday. Sachin breathed his last on Wednesday Dec 27 at 8.30.

Sachin hails from Moodigere and is the son of Stanley Pinto and Flossy Pinto.
