Udupi, Dec 29: The general body meeting of the City Municipal Council (CMC) was held here on Thursday December 28.
The issue that rocked the meeting was that of bad roads. Councillors Anandi and Navinchandra alleged that the officials of Karnataka Urban Development and Coastal Environment Management Project (KUDCEMP) have not delivered their promises of repairing the roads.
The volley of words of continued as KUDCEMP assistant executive engineer Nanjundaswamy denied the allegation by saying that the KUDCEMP engineers are already inspecting the roads but the councillors were not convinced.
KUDCEMP executive engineer Rajashekar informed that 50 per cent of the construction work of proposed solid waste disposal unit at Alevoor was over and the same will continue once the court vacated the stay order.
This was the final CMC monthly meeting before the elections to be held in January. CMC president Shanta Krishna Naik presided.
