Mangalore, Dec 30:
Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy in association with Mandd Sobhann will organize 'Kavita Fest' by Kavita, a trust for the promotion of poetry at Kalaangann here on Saturday January 6 and Sunday January 7.
 
'Kavita' promoter and poet Melvyn Rodrigues while speaking at the press meet here on Saturday December 30 said that the fest will include programmes like poetry workshop by Melvyn Rodrigues on January 6 in which only 30 persons will be given a chance to participate.
 
He added that on January 7 there will be a symposium on the topic ‘Where does Konkani poetry stand in the world context?’ Renowned writer Jayant Kaikini will be the moderator.
 
At 2.30 pm under the leadership of poets Titus Noronha and Rajay Pawar a national level poets meet will be held while at 6 pm 'Shamio rose' Jugal Bandhi will be organized at Kalaangann open hall where popular singers will sing Konkani songs composed by ten renowned poets. The entry for the programme will be free of charge. 
 
Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Eric Ozario, Mandd Sobhann president Louis J Pinto and Konkani Academy registrar H S Shivarudrappa were also present at the press meet.
