Puttur, Jan 15: As reported earlier four students who went missing from St Philomena College Hostel here a few days ago have been traced in Goa and are being brought back on Monday January 15 by police.  However, sources said that the college management has decided to dismiss these four students from the college.

The missing students Joswa, Ashok, Devayya and Jeevan Kumar were traced in Goa by police based on the calls they made.  It is said that the students had gone to Goa on an outing without informing the college, hostel and even their parents.  Their disappearing from the hostel had created panic in the minds of many since Charan Raj, a student of the same college who had gone missing (said to have been kidnapped) a couple of months ago has not yet been traced.

But these students had planned their visit much in advance.  Some locals said that they had drawn the plan in a cyber cafe here.  One of them, Ashok is the mastermind behind the entire episode and he has a past record of similar activities too.  After receiving information about their whereabouts in Goa, the police along with hostel warden and parents of these students had gone to Goa.  The students were found working in a restaurant there.

They had gone to Goa by train and spent time in merry-making till their pockets got empty.  Thereafter one of them who had a cellphone sold it for further expences.  But when there were no other ways left, they joined a restaurant as workers.

The college has taken a stern stand in the present issue since the students soiled the reputation of the college as well as hostel.  This is a clear warning for those students who join the colleges to spend their time and not for academical benefit.  The management has issued Transfer Certificates (TC) and the students will be sent home along with their parents on their arrival.
