Mangalore, Jan 17: It was a sober gathering at the Tulu Chawadi here with Tulu artistes paying tributes to film director, litterateur and journalist late Chandrashekhar Kukkikatte on Tuesday January 16. Kukkikatte passed away recently in Mysore owing to illness.
Recalling the times spent with the late artiste, noted Tulu film director Dr Richard Castelino said that he was person with tremendous talent but regretted that though Kukkikatte had written the script for his film ‘Badi’ while lying in the hospital, he was not there to watch the movie.
He also marvelled at Kukkikatte’s achievements like authoring 28 novels and winning the Madhyama Academy award.
Film and play director Dr Sanjay Dandakeri, music director Charan Kumar and artiste K N Tailor fondly remembered Kukkikatte.
Theatre personality V G Pal, Raghav K Ullal and film artiste Sarojini Shetty also paid their tributes.
