Puttur, Jan 17: Charanraj, a student of St Philomena College here who had been kidnapped two months ago, still remains untraced.  The case is becoming more and more mysterious as the days pass by since there has been no news either from Charanraj or the kidnappers.  The sources said the different police teams which had gone to Hyderabad, Goa, Chennai and Thiruvanatapuram for search have come back empty-handed.

The efforts by the town police to trace Charanraj with the help of Chennai CCIB and Bangalore CCB police too have not yielded any result.  Though the kidnappers had initially called Charan's father demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore, they have not called once again in the last one and half month.

This has given rise to suspicion about the very news of kidnap.  There are some rumours that the entire episode is only a farce since Charan wanted to flee from the college.  However there are no facts to establish this too.   Looking back at the entire episode there are no clear evidences as why Charan might have been kidnapped.  The family is free from all kinds of disputes especially among the members of the family. Charan's father has written two letters each to home minister and chief minister to solve the case, there has been no positive result.
