Mangalore, Jan 17: Rachana, a forum of Catholic enterpreneurs, businessmen and professional, with a view to recognizing and honouring achievers of the community has instituted 'Rachana Awards' since 2004.  The awards are, Rachana Agriculturist award, Rachana Enterpreneur/businessman of the year and  Rachana professional of the year.

Rachana wishes to honour outstanding individuals – Catholics originating from the Mangalore diocese – who have excelled in their respective fields.

4 Awards will be awarded this year.

The categories chosen are :
1. Agriculturist / Horticulturist
2. Industrialist / Entrepreneur
3. Professional (Doctors / Lawyers / Engineers / Chartered Accountants, Journalists etc)
4. NRI Entrepreneur / Professional

An Award will consist of :
a) A Title
b) A Citation
c) A Memento
d) Honour in Public

Applications / Nominations - Recommnedations (in the presribed form), should reach us on or before February 12, 2007.

A panel of judges, constituted for the purpose, shall scrutinize the Applications / Nominations - Recommendations, and shall select the most deserving.  The panel will comprise of capable and impartial experts.

The awards will be awarded at a grand 'Rachana Awards Ceremony' at Mangalore on Sunday February 24, 2007.
