Mangalore, Jan 18: SAS Motors has launched a cost-effective 22 HP tractor ‘Angad 240 D’ which is priced at less than half the price of commonly used tractors in India, said SAS Motors general manager (commercial) A S Katekar while addressing a press meet here on Wednesday January 17.

Elaborating on the benefits of the tractor, he said that Angad was not only fuel-efficient, but also claimed that it was more economical than a pair of bullocks. Along with being included in the list of tractors that obtain subsidy from the government, the tractor also aims to cut maintenance and fuel costs by 25 per cent.

He also announced the launch of ‘Angad Krishi Seva Kendra,’ an initiative of SAS Motors which aims at assisting agriculture graduates in operating agricultural service centres in villages under the ‘agri clinic/ agro service centre scheme’ of the government. Under the programme, the company will also provide necessary equipment to the farmers at an affordable price.

SAS Motors is a newly formed company which makes low-cost farm mechanisation and transportation facilities for farmers. The company has already sold over 3000 Angad tractors over the last one and half years.

SAS Motors area sales manager G Vasant Rao was present at the press meet.
