Mangalore, Jan 19: St Joseph’s Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor here will organise a seminar and workshop along with an exhibition on ‘MEMS Design and Fabrication Promises and Challenges in India’ from Monday January 22 to Saturday January 27.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday January 19, SJEC principal Dr R K Yaji said that the seminar has been sponsored by AICTE and approved by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.

The chief guest will be NITK, Suratkal director Dr Sandeep Sanchetti while the guest of honour will be National Design Research Forum former chairman Lt Gen Dr V J Sundaram, PVSM, who will also deliver the keynote address.

BEL, Bangalore additional general manager Dr K Natarajan will deliver the inaugural address. Several professors and experts will give presentations during the course of the seminar.

Sebastian Cases from Tanner Soft MEMS France and others will conduct workshop sessions in the afternoons on all the three days of the seminar.

There will be flag hoisting ceremony on the occasion of Republic Day on Friday January 26.

The valedictory will be held on January 27 at 12.30 pm. The chief guest for the programme will be Manipal University pro vice-chancellor Brig Dr S S Pabla. The guests of honour will be NITK Suratkal registrar Dr Aloysius Sequeira and VTU, Belgaum Prof and special officer Dr K Venkatesh.

SJEC assistant director Fr Henry Mascarenhas  was present at the press meet.
