Beltangady, Jan 20: "We would soon be announcing the date of Abhishek and Aishwarya's wedding. It will be official soon," said Krishnaraj Rai, father of bollywood actress and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai.

He was speaking to the press after visiting Shri Manjunatheshwara Temple at Dharmasthala near here on Friday January 19.

He further said that his visit to Mangalore and Aishwarya's wedding had nothing to do since the visit was planned much earlier. "However it is purely a coincidence that we came after Aishwarya's engagement," he added.

He also said that it is a great honour that Aishwarya would soon become the daughter-in-law of Bachchan family.  "We are very proud about her and feel happy for her," he said.

Aishwarya's mother Vrinda Rai and a few other close relatives of the family too were present.  They visited the Temple and offered pooja before meeting Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade in his residence.

Later the family travelled to Kasargod to offer elaborate rituals and poojas.
