Mangalore, Jan 22: In a tragic incident two young men were run over by a train at Kumpala near Ullal here on Sunday January 21 morning.
The deceased have been identified as Narendra (30) and Sandeep (22), residents of Kolya. They had gone to participate in a religious programme to the Swami Koragajja Temple near their house. After that they were returning home in the early hours of Sunday when they were run over by a running train. The accident was such ghastly that the young men were smashed to death.
However, some sources said that the young men sitting on the railway track and drinking alcohol when the train arrived. Owing to the heavy influence of alcohol, they could not make out the train approaching which in turn resulted in their death.
The railway police have booked a case in this regard.
