Mangalore, Jan 23: The South Kanara Beedi Workers' Federation which is affiliated to the All-India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) will organize a rally demanding fulfillment of their demands on pension and Provident Fund.

Speaking to the media on Monday, general secretary of the federation Chandappa Anchan said that they oppose the ‘tripartite agreement’ among the Government, beedi manufacturers and trade unions on variable DA and wages.

Their main demands include minimum pension of Rs 1,000, rectifying errors like birth dates in PF and inclusion of all Beedi workers in the PF scheme.

The rally will be held on Wednesday and will commence from Shanti Nilaya ground and will reach the EPF office via Bendore.
