Mangalore, Jan 23: Auto and taxi drivers of the city have decided to join the bundh called by Karnataka State Bus Owners Federation, Bangalore, and All India Confederation of Goods Vehicle Owners Association. The bundh will be held on Thursday January 25.

According to a press release, those taking part in the strike will assemble at the deputy commissioner’s office at 11 am. The bundh has been organised to urge the government to withdraw the hike of over 150 per cent in the rate of premium for mandatory motor insurance policy introduced by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA).

The release stated that on the day of the bundh, no public vehicles including buses will ply on the roads.
