Mangalore, Jan 23: The fourth all-India Physiotherapy Students’ Conference organised by the South Kanara Physiotherapy Teachers’ Association was inaugurated at Town Hall here on Monday January 22.

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty presented the U T Naseema Fareed Memorial gold medal to the topper in RGUHS postgraduate studies on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he stressed on the need to maintain one’s health and fitness.

The conference was inaugurated by district in-charge minister Nagaraj Shetty. Alva’s Education Foundation founder chairman Dr M Mohan Alva presided over the programme.

Indian Association of Physiotherapists president Dr Ali Irani was honoured on the occasion.

Among those present were Dr M V Shetty Trust College founder Dr M R Shetty, MLA N Yogish Bhat, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Indian Association of Physiotherapists general secretary Dr B S Desikamini, CAPRI Institute of Manual Therapy, Delhi director Dr Deepak Kumar, RGUHS board of studies chairman Dr Pravin Aaron and others.
