Mangalore, Jan 24: In yet another case of theft, cash amounting to Rs 60,000 was stolen from the house of one Venkatesh Bhat in Falnir here.

The owner was away on a trip to Mumbai when the theft occured. The incident came to light only after he returned.



In his complaint, Venkatesh said that the theives may have gained entry to the house from the rear door. As no one was in the house, it is not yet known when the theft took place.

Only a few days ago, a similar theft had occured in another part of the city, in the house of a railway employee. The incidents reflect the need for utmost care on the part of owners before they depart out of station.

The local police have registered a complaint in this regard.
