Mangalore, Jan 25: With the Hindu Samajotsava round the corner, IGP Western Range H N Satyanarayan Rao has said that all necessary security arrangements have been made in order to prevent occurrence of untoward incidents during the event.
Addressing a press conference here Thursday January 25, Rao said that the city will be divided into 11 zones and a total of 3000 policemen will be deployed in the district under the guidance of higher officials.
Two SP grade officers, nine deputy SPs, 100 sub-inspectors and 1229 head constables, 500 home guards, 50 rapid action force personnel, 30 KSRP troop will be deployed from other districts along with Rapid Intervention Vehicles, Video Cameras and barricades which will be brought as per requirement.
He further informed that sale of liquor will be banned from 6 am on Sunday January 28 to 6 am on Monday January 29.
As a precautionary measure, the district administration has cautioned the organizers to maintain peace during the event failing which strict action may be taken against them, he warned.
Stringent action will also be taken against anyone who indulges in spreading rumours or false messages to create disturbance during the course of the event.
