Mangalore, Jan 26: Rowdy Pandu who is wanted in at least 20 criminal cases in Dakshina Kannada district has finally been nabbed by DCIB police in Madikeri on Thursday January 25 night, said sources.

This is a major breakthrough for police who had been hunting Pandu for long.  The police sources also said that an accomplice of Pandu too has been nabbed on Thursday night along with him an estate at Gonikoppa near Madikeri.  However it is not yet known whether it was Alwyn Pinto or Shaktivelu.  Both Alwyn and Shaktivelu are in the wanted list of police in connection with many cases.

Pandu has 20 cases against him in Dakshina Kannada district alone.  However, he has many more case against him in Udupi and Mumbai.  The police sources say that of recent he has been engaged in supari killing too.

Pandu came to prominence when he along with Alwyn Pinto, Shaktivelu and others had tried to release another notorious criminal Vamanjoor Rohi from police custody near PVS Circle almost couple of years ago.  The police investigation revealed the Vamanjoor Rohi and Pandu had together hatched this conspiracy.

Thereafter Pandu's name has almost disappeared from the criminal activities in the district.  But he has been active in Udupi and Mumbai along with his criminal accomplices.
