Kundapur, Jan 29: Jaison Peter D'Souza (25), a resident of Mermajal near Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada district has been arrested by Byndoor police on Sunday January 28 for cheating several persons to the tune of several lacs.
Jaison Peter was running "Sanidya Customer Care Centre" in Mangalore which dealt with financial matters. Jaison used to travel to the length and breadth of Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district. He was luring the customers to procure loan from his centre for minimum interest.
Once the customers approached him, he used to receive 20% of the total loan amount as advance. He however deposited the money in his personal accounts in banks at Honnavar, Shiroor, Karwar, Udupi, Mangalore etc.
However, at the time of procuring the loan, he used to disappear for several days. In Shiroor and Byndoor areas alone he had collected more than Rs 75,000 as his commission. But he was finally nabbed by Byndoor police while he was luring some other customer.
The police said that a case in connection with cheating in Mangalore. He had duplicate seals with him. The Byndoor police have registered a case against him.
