Johannesburg, March 10 (IANS): A woman appeared in court on Tuesday for allegedly murdering renowned South African musician Nkuli Habedi, popularly known as "Flabba".

As Sindisiwe Precious Manquele, 26, was making her brief appearance at the Alexandra Magistrate's Court in Johannesburg, an angry crowd mobbed Manquele's relatives, causing chaos outside the court, Xinhua news agency reported.

The crowd shouted "No bail, no bail".

Manquele was arrested on Monday after allegedly killing Habedi, her boyfriend, during an argument.

Dressed in black, Manquele told a packed court that she had sustained bruises and stab wounds to her arms and stomach.

After Manquele showed the court the injuries she sustained, the magistrate agreed to her being examined by a private doctor.

The case against Manquele was postponed to March 16 for further investigations.

Habedi, a member of the well-known Skwatta Camp rap group, was stabbed to death early Monday morning in Alexandra, Johannesburg, allegedly by Manquele, who claimed to be Habedi's girlfriend.

Habedi, born on October 17, 1977, in Orlando West, Johannesburg, was leader of the South African sensational hip-hop group Skwatta Kamp.

With his debut solo album “Nkuli vs Flabba”, he brought in amazing rhymes, punch lines and humour. His debut album was released in late 2006 and early 2007 with the smash hits “E'sbamo so mdogo (Porridge Gun)” and “Tap that ass”. He won the South African Music Award for best hip-hop album in 2007.
