Kelly Osbourne will undergo preventive surgery for cancer

Los Angeles, March 26 (IANS): After Angelina Jolie, singer Kelly Osbourne, who has a family history for cancer, is planning to undergo a preventative surgery.

The 30-year-old's mother Sharon was also diagnosed with colon cancer back in the year 2002.

When hosts of chat show “The Talk” discussed about Jolie's announcement of removing her ovaries to prevent the onset of cancer, Osbourne opened up about her own case, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

During the conversation, Osbourne shared: "I actually do have the cancer gene."

She revealed that the decision to get tested was prompted by her mother, who successfully fought the disease after undergoing two surgeries.

The "Coolhead” hitmaker explained: "My mom made all of us get tested after she found out that she had it and got her double mastectomy.

"I agree with this 100 percent. I know that one day I will eventually have to do it too because if I have children, I want to be there to bring them up. I want to be there to support them in every way I can”.

"It's something I applaud Angelina for because she's bringing attention to this, and people are now going to go out and get tested for it," Osbourne added.
