According to sources seven families were residing in a land in Iddidu village here for the past 7 years. However as the land belonged to a certain Venkataramana Bhat, he initated the move to evict the encroachers.

While the issue was in court, the verdict was given in favour of the land owner and so on Saturday; he along with the concerned officials and police reached the spot for eviction.

The poor families, who were forced to evict protested. Local people also joined them and took the officials to task. Tension created at the venue when the local leaders too joined in the protest against eviction.

However realizing that the court order was in favour of the land owner, the situation was controlled after the leaders held discussions with the land owner and also explained the situation to the families living in that region.

Sources have told Daijiworld, that the issue will be settled amicably after holding required talks with the land owner.
